Warlord: Battle in the badlands. Guidelines and tables for Goblinoid warbands using 3rd ed Warhammer.

Finally got the Warband guidelines ready to release. Treat this as a playtest set and forgive any and all errors, there are bound to be many. Any feed back is greatly received.

Warlord Battle in the Badlands.

Edit:

I've already spotted some problems with the document not least of which is the roll to advance your warlords stats. It should read minus from your roll the number of times you have tried to improve the stat including failed times. This makes it increasingly difficult to improve.

  1. Nice one, Erny! I've rolled up a mob and will unveil them in all their rampaging glory when I get a couple of orc archers painted up. Look out humies, stunties, pansies and everybody else - Rugyob's boys are coming!

They look nicely balanced against a starting RoC warband. It'll be interesting to see whether they can keep pace with the zaniness of a developing daemon and it's followers. Not that that needs to be a problem - developing orc warbands in a path to glory would be just as much fun.

  2. That's brilliant ! This shows you complete dedication to the goblinoids, I am very tempted to roll myself a warband, " just to see", wh knows where that may take me...

Splendid work at the end of orctober !

    1. Hope to see what you roll up. Even if you don't collect anything it's fun to roll.

  3. Great looking thing there. No snotlings: design decision or oversight?

    1. Oversight. I never had any or used any, have soem to paint up but clearly they just ain't on my radar. I intend to polish these up and will include them in the future.

  4. Excellent work, can't wait to have a go at using it to organise my leader and troops before playing. Also surprised at no snotlings! Thank you though for sharing.

  5. Just downloaded and ready to try these out. I also wanted to say that I really liked your warbands and battle reports. You had some really good pictures in those posts. Finally, mea culpa, I'm not on the Oldhammer forum. I probably will head over there, but I have a love hate relationship with forums. I find they get a tad overwhelming.

    1. Minus, got it. I assume that putting Level 10 first, then Level 5, for hero was that you wanted to have the probability of the hero being Level 10 be higher. I could not figure out where you got the roll values for the Shaman's spells, or how you determined how many spells. I also can't figure out what The Big Orange Book is, and if it's not 3rd, how to get a hold of it.

    2. The Big Orange Book is the main 3rd ed rule book.

I rolled up the Shamans spells on the Warhammer Armies table but anything random is OK.

And yes I made level 10 heroes more common, though level 5 wizards are more common than level 10 wizards.

  6. This is AMAZING! It really captures the flavour of the Big Orange Book. I see that 24_Cigarettes helped you with some input on this project. Since he lives in my neighbourhood, I'll have to see if I can entice him into assembling a warband and giving your rules a try. Can't wait. Thanks again!

    1. Glad you like it. I'd love to see what other people make of it, I have plans to expand it into the worlds edge mountains and include smaller lists for Skaven and Dwarven adversaries so even if 24-Cigarettes bulks at playing green skins ratmen would then be available. Must get some more games played myself.

  7. Hi, I was looking online to see if anybody had done a FANTASY spin on Gorkamorka and found "Warlord: Battle in the Badlands". I'd love to read the rules if they're still available. CHEERS!
