What follows here are the shots from the Sunday the first set are general shots, the second are a few shots taken of Forenrond's Last Stand played out by Jeff and Snicket, I'll be producing one of my comic book style reports for this so I'll be holding back on a few photos.

Set 1 general shots:

Oldhammer weekend photos. Day 1

With the posting of photos from the day beginning to take off I thought I should contribute too. These are straight shots unedited or generally selected fro quality.

Day One:

I managed to mislay my camera on the first day so the following shots were taken with the iPad. The first set are general shots in no particular order and with no story to tell.

Gaj's Chaos/undead Nurgle mashup.

My Brothers ratmen.

More skaven.

The two armies above battle.

So excited to see these in the lead.

And these...

Never thought to get a photo with TMDWALC, this is the closest I get to that.

Obligatory Nico shot, froth...

And another.

Trolltastic action from Golgfag1.

Cabinet goodies (mainly Harry's but Nico's Chaos dwarves.)

More of Harry's but do I see some Epic....

This second set contains taster photos from the game Bug16 and myself played. I intend to produce one of my comic based battle reports about this in the near future so I shall not give away too much here.

The battle lines.

Gulp I see skullchucker.
I love these sort of views across the battlefield.
Death riders, five of em.
The lines close.
Frenzied boar riders.
Death riders, two of them. Go Fanatic, go.
Getting crunchy in the middle.
Run away!
A decisive challenge but whose across the board sixes are they?

Oldhammer weekend, a big thanks to all!

Ashcan The Great poses for a photo on a local monument.
Just wanted to say a big thank you to all the Oldhamnmerers out there for making the weekend so awesome. I had several great games, saw some fantastic armies, met the Mighty Dark-Winged Avenging Lord of Chaos and heard some of his thoughts on toy soldiers and got to see some classic miniatures and scenery from the pages of White Dwarf. Not Bad.

Special thanks to Gaj for doing the lions share of organising our side of things and more importantly the Ansells for allowing this to happen and organising magnificent tables, displays, putting rare miniatures back into production ans supplying food.

How many Rudlug's boxed sets are too many Rudlug's boxed sets?

When bidding on something I want on ebay I often find the bargains are in the big lots which also often means you end up with something you already have.

Now one boxed set is my original from '88 and I ain't repainting that. Another is destined for my new orc force and a third would be nice to keep as a complete unused set. That leaves me with a spare. What to do with it. Either I could see if anyone needs a swap and has something to really tempt me (seriously if you have something great and want a boxed set let me know but it would need to be pretty special) or I could run a competition. You know one of those sign up to the blog and say you want it kind of jobs but that seams a little mercenary and someone who wouldn't show it the right kind of love may get it. I don't know but four Rudlug's boxed set are too many Rudlug's boxed sets.

OK just for you box lovers out there, I love a good box. Not the full collection by any means.

Erny's Roamers, Goblin Wolf boys for 3rd edition Warhammer

With Oldhammer weekend fast approaching it really is time to get the brush hours in. I've promised to run Forenronds Last Stand, you know that scenario you've had ever since you bought 3rd but never played. I've played it a few times, with card counters and a couple of times with painted minis. So I can field all the forces but I've set myself the task of sprucing up, or in this case replacing some of the units.

These are  Erny's Roamers, Erny is a good name and it is from this enigmatic leader of gobbos that I take my on line moniker. They are MM goblin wolf riders though the champion is a converted infantry champion. I prefer him to the actual MM wulfboy hero model which is also almost painted. The standard is also non-standard representing a trophy captured from a unit of quarellers they quarrelled with. The standard dwarf's head now decorates the top of the banner and I've tried to go for a Gary Chalk look to the banner itself. Anyway enjoy:

Now these photos should be in focus, I recently rediscovered my tripod in the garage. The last set of photos of the gobbo spears were not so whilst I had the lights and scenery out I took a few snaps of the infantry. Let me know what you think.

The green skins are gathering.

Que the ominous music.

I've been through a bit of a doldrums of late, Oldhammer just wasn't doing it for me creativity. Heresy I hear you say burn out I reply, you may have noticed my blog goes in bursts unlike some of these endurance bloggers.. Still I've had a dalliance with CoC of late and a bit of pulp gaming, I though it best to ensure I was hitting peak enthusiasm .

Thankfully the Oldhammer bug is rising again so should be frothing fully by late August. In the mean time I'm getting busy sprucing up old paints on old greenskins.
